Creating custom pieces of jewelry is one of my favorite things to do. Feel free to read about my experiences doing just that along with the reviews from the people who received them.
Custom necklace for Sam A.
Sam's ExperienceI asked Narelle to design a necklace for me to wear to my art opening. I described to her the dress I was planning on wearing and length that would work with the outfit. She created the perfect piece of jewelry for the event. It has black inlaid beads that matched my black dress, with golden designs and silver beads that match the rest of my jewelry. The rest of the necklace is alternating rock and shell fragments with highlights of turquoise blue that complement the main stone pendant. I've worn the piece to many events and always get complimented on it.

My Experience When Sam asked me to make her a necklace I was very excited because they were going to go with a pair of earrings that her boyfriend gave her. The earrings were very unique and intricate, yet simple. She was still deciding on other things she was going to wear, but she told me a little about her dress. So I decided to make a piece with gold highlights, beads with swirls that kind of reminded me of what Sam draws in her illustrations. I saw a pretty turquoise piece set in sterling silver that would make the earrings and any other blue in the outfit pop. I knew something natural looking would go nicely on Sam and would look good with the bone earrings she was going to wear, so I added some shell pieces too. The mission was to add things without having it be too complex in color or design just in case the dress was not so simple, or in case she decided to change her outfit. I was so glad to see Sam’s reaction in the end and to see her wear it at her senior exhibition. Her whole outfit was great and the earrings and necklace looked nice with it all." I'm grateful to have had the opportunity to make a a piece for such a rewarding time.

Custom Bracelets for Precious E.
Precious wanted to know if I would be able to make her friend a bracelet around October 2013. I was excited because this piece would be one completely from scratch with nothing I’ve done before. She asked if it could be a green bracelet and I asked if she wanted anything else incorporated. She told me it was in memory of her friend who passed away and that green was his favorite color. They called him “The Bear” and if there was any way I could add a bear to the design that would be great. She just simply added that as a bonus and I said definitely almost immediately without any knowledge of how I would go about putting it together. I just knew there was a way! I searched and searched through bear charms. Many looked scary and I knew the type of feel she was wanting for the piece and that wasn't it. After a bit of looking I finally found bear buttons and crafted them into charms. I turned it into a double sided charm and used opposing colors to make them pop and also to add support for the rest of the bracelet. I was so excited to begin the rest. It was different from other pieces I've made before, and that’s exactly what I wanted to achieve. Later, after I got that one to her, it turned out some of Precious’ friends liked them too and soon I made a few more and even a car charm! It was so fun and meaningful, because I was supposed to make them all pretty much the same, but each one had a little something that separated it from the others. I’m grateful, humbled and honored that I had the opportunity to make such a special pieces.
Long live the bear!
